ELIZABETH TOBIAS is an actor (AEA/SAG), director, producer and artist-educator.

As an actor, she appeared in The Master of the House at the Laguna Playhouse and Hippolytos at the Getty Villa. Musical roles include Atalanta in Atalanta (David Mowers/David O –Ovation Nominated, World Premiere Musical); Maggie in Batboy: the Musical (Keythe Farley/Larry O’Keefe; LA Weekly Award, Ensemble), Stepsister in Medea/Macbeth/Cinderella (Bill Rauch/Tracy Young; LA Weekly Award, Ensemble) and understudy in The Break-up Notebook: A Lesbian Musical (Ovation Award – Best Original Musical). Classical roles include Mistress Quickly in The Merry Wives of Windsor (Nevada Shakespeare); Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Beverly Hills Outlook Award, Best Actress) and Lady Macduff/Witch in Macbeth at Theatricum Botanicum.

TV and film roles include Private Practice, Side Order of Life, 7th Heaven, InJustice; NYPD Blue, Strong Medicine; and the features Universal Remote (Gary Hardwick) and Ten Stories Tall (David Garrett).

As director/producer, Ms. Tobias has worked with Fabulous Monsters, The Actors’ Gang, Theatricum Botanicum and Creative PlayGround (a company of adult, professional actors presenting interactive adaptations of classic children’s literature) for which she is also Co-Artistic Director with Karen Hardcastle.

She has taught/administrated for Serendipity, S.T.A.R., Kidpower, Powerhouse, The Actors’ Gang and Theatricum Botanicum (where she currently serves as School Programs Director).

Ms. Tobias’ commitment has been to participate in theatre of the highest quality that treats its audience with respect and, by so doing, helps to honor the past, dignify the present and ensure the future of this great and valuable interactive art form.
